TRUTH HOTS…

It may come as a whisper
A shout across the street
A scrawl on a rumpled piece of paper
A line in a song
A drunken slur
It may very well be a demonstration
A blend of display worth a thousand words
Oh, it could be from a stranger
A companion
A lifetime friend or a new acquaintance
A spouse or another significant order
It could be from a parent
Or a sibling: brother or sister
Elder or younger
Close or far
All with a form of access
You may be too shocked to utter a word
It may numb you
Or stun you into silence and thoughtfulness
It may catch you mid stride
Knock you to dreamy sleep
Or render you restless
It could make you want to scream
Or draw tears from your eyes
Or just leave you staring into space.
Whatever it does to you
Face it and phase it
The consideration phase
The testing phase
The dissection phase
And of course, the action phase
Whatever you do, let them truth spur you to do
Do something; act right
It may hurt and cut like a hot sharp knife
But truth bestowed, tested, and dissected must be acted on
Please do something about that truth
For your own sake
After all, you owe it to yourself

Just this last weekend, I was just strolling by one of the residential streets that leads to the main road of the CBD that I usually walk to clear my head or get some fresh lagoon sourced breeze when I heard the excited laughter of a baby boy of about 6 months or thereabout. The cute young being's laughter was punctuated by little kisses on the lips by a beautiful young woman who also had a bright smile on her face. The lucky baby tended to laugh harder with an obvious (even if unconscious and innocent) twinkle after each kiss. The innocence, beauty, and endearment of that poignant episode prompted my making both a physical and mental note to research the mystery of an act so simple but effectively expressive, then share same with y'all. Hallo People! Has it ever occurred to you that one major challenge we all face is acting on our decision to confront our challenges.
